WebCouncil Charter

WebCouncil is an Online Group for NZ Local Government Web Managers.

The purpose of WebCouncil is collaboration among New Zealand Local Government Web Managers to share support and develop best practices around the management of Local Government Public Web Sites and Intranets.

WebCouncil was opened 14 September 2005 and will run indefinitely.

Membership and Roles

Membership of WebCouncil is open to all staff with a council email address who are formally responsible for maintaining a New Zealand local authority public web site and/or intranet and all staff reporting to them. In addition, membership is open to members of Algim and staff and officers of LGOL.

The WebCouncil Home Page shows the parts of WebCouncil that can be seen and contributed to by members and non-members.

You are not a member of WebCouncil. To request Membership, please contact the Participation Coach Barney Dzowa (you will have to register before you can see Barney Dzowa's email address) .

The Owner of WebCouncil is Local Government Online Ltd. WebCouncil is administered by OnlineGroups.Net.

Participation Protocol

By participating in WebCouncil, members agree to the following.

  • Respect the privacy and intellectual property rights of the other WebCouncil members. (WebCouncil is a confidential group; do not forward other people's posts without their consent.)
  • Write clear and thoughtful posts as described in the User Guide.

Participants in WebCouncil are encouraged to carry out the following.

  • Explore and discuss effective online collaboration.
